1 – 31 October 2020
Featuring work from Ben Yau, Pablo Paillole and Ufuoma Essi.

Nadir Project Space presents a selection of moving image and mixed-media works that draw on a variety of historical narratives, geopolitical contexts, and social tensions through the interweaving of archival imagery, texts and medias, filmed footage and popular culture. Ben Yau, Pablo Paillole and Ufuoma Essi display a sensitivity to the social and political conditions we live in, be it US anti-leftist intervention in South America, the absurdity and celebrity of the British political class, or acts of historical reclamation on the part of Black women. All three artists build narratives through the juxtaposition of material and media, demonstrating the poignancy – and sensorial affects – of exploring time and place through the assemblage of found and archival sources.
